Historically, building codes have required steel or concrete for taller structures, creating a gap in housing development between roughly 6 and 12 stories.<\/p>\n<p>This presentation explores whether mass timber can make financial sense in mid-rise multi-family projects and how new provisions in the 2021 International Building Code open opportunities for housing in the 6\u201318 story
